Towering

Posted on 09/01/202107/03/2022 by Lo.cura

I’m broken, I hear.
I see the cracks
from the base up,
each beating deeper
it reaches,
rain is falling in,
blood getting dry.
I’m broken, says
the voice.
I trace the edges
at times I stop,
I want to feel more.
I see the crevices
and I raise them.
I’m hurt and I
know it.
I shake, pieces
fall off.
An earthquake, drum
rolls.
I can’t hold it all
I give in but I
don’t break
open, a vase nor
peeling rose.
I grow
grow taller.
I stand higher
I build up
I can’t forget the sky.
I get up, lift
the ground is me,
the stars will be.
I am a tower.
